(Found in the Apocrypha) Ecclesiasticus 2:1-3

My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation.  Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste in time of trouble.  Cleave unto Him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be increased at thy last end.

What do you know about KALE????

Kale a very great source of FIBER and excellent ANTIOXIDANT!!!!

FIBER [ˈfaɪbə] - The parts of grains, fruits, and vegetables that contain cellulose and are not digested by the body.  Fiber helps the intestines absorb water, which increases the bulk of stool and causes it to move more quickly through the colon.

ANTIOXIDANT [æntɪˈɒksɪdənt] - A chemical compound or substance, which inhibits oxidation.  Certain vitamins, such as vitamin E, are antioxidants and may protect body cells from damage caused by the oxidative effects of free radicals.

Kale has never been a very big part of my diet.  Honestly, until I think six months ago, I never knew that kale existed!  But I’m so glad that the Lord has introduced this super vegetable to me, and I will try to make this vegetable as regular as water is in my diet.

Kale or borecole is a part of the Brassica family along with vegetables like Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, and collards.  If you know anything about nutrition, you know that leafy greens have a plethora of health benefits.  Here are some vitamins and minerals that just one cup of chopped Kale can deliver into your body:
·
Iron - Kale contains more iron that beef.  Iron is essential for the transporting of oxygen to various parts of the body.  Iron also assists in great liver function, the formation of hemoglobin and enzymes.  Iron also stimulates productive cell growth.

·         Vitamin K – Since Vitamin K is unequivocally involved in photosynthesis, it is most prevalent in leafy greens like Kale. Vitamin K is known to be a great protector against blood clotting, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer.  Vitamin K is also essential in bone health, and also a mighty fighter against cardiovascular disease.

·         Vitamin A (Retinoid) – Vitamin A is great for your eyes, skin, teeth, and lungs.  Vitamin A also slows down tumor growth and fights the development of cancerous cells and combats the diseases that are produced by viruses.  EXTRA FACT:  People that suffer from strokes, and have a high amount of Vitamin A in their system are less likely to suffer from disabilities.

·         Vitamin C – This very famous vitamin is helpful to your immune system, speeds up your metabolism, and is essential to your hydration.  This is also another vitamin that is known to combat cancer.  Because of its antioxidant abilities, it is able to be a shield for your cells from mutation.  Vitamin C can also help regulate blood levels.

·         Phosphorus – Phosphorus is essential in the successful development of bones and teeth.  Phosphorus is helpful in brain functions, sexual health and reproduction, maintaining the kidneys, and healthy digestion.  Phosphorus  is also an aid in balancing the hormones.

·         Copper – Copper is good for the proper development of pigmentation of the eyes and hair.  Copper is a great brain stimulant, anti-inflammatory, and protects the nervous systems, bones, and cardiovascular systems.  Copper helps fight arthritis, and essential in developing melanin, connective tissues, and collagen.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;" Psalms 103:3-4

·         Here is a chart of the different vitamins and minerals that Kale can provide for you in just a one cup serving:
This Nutritional Chart is obtained from whfoods.com

Kale is a great vegetable to have in our diet, considering some of the facts provided.  Any vegetable is really good for your health (unless you are allergic, of course). What does the Bible say about vegetables? Well, in Genesis 1:29, God says, And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."  The Lord also wants us to use these special gifts from the earth to take care of our bodies. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." This particular scripture means that we should eat and drink things that are good for us. (Refer to Leviticus 11). Most people misinterpret this scripture and think that this particular scripture is only commanding us to say grace over the food, and that's it.  Even though praying over your food is a requirement, this scripture especially means that we should only eat the foods that are allowed in God's dietary law (Leviticus 11).  The foods that are forbidden in the dietary law does not give glory to God because they have very bad affects on our health and are, well UNCLEAN.  They eat unclean things. So, if we are eating and drinking things that can deteriorate your health, how is that glorifying God????

But why does God require us to eat and drink things to the glory of God?  Well, we can answer this question in 1 Corinthians 3:16 " Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."  TODAH!

Let's try to better or diets! God Bless!

Shrimp!  America’s Favorite, Edible, Creeping…ABOMINATION!
Abomination [əˌbɒm əˈneɪ ʃən] -  Abhorrence; disgust; a person or thing that is disgusting; a vile or shameful action, condition, or habit. (from Latin abominare, "to deprecate as an ill omen")

What’s your favorite shrimp dish?  Is it, Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Shrimp, Shrimp Jambalaya, Coconut Shrimp, or some good ol’ Southern Fried Shrimp?  This popular crustacean is definitely the epitome of versatility when it comes to cooking seafood.  So, it’s not surprising that Americans consume over 1 billion pounds of shrimp a year.  But here is a little known truth about the shrimp you are consuming that may not be so popular.  This may shock you…
  • 90% of the shrimp that is imported into the US travels all the way from India, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • No more than 2% of this imported shrimp is inspected by the FDA
  • Only 0.1% of the imported seafood is tested by the FDA for chemical residues
  • The imported shrimp is so dirty, that it accounts for 26 to 35 percent of seafood that is rejected due to its filthy conditions.
  • Mouse hair, rat hair, cockroaches, and pieces of insects can be found in these shipments of imported shrimp.
  • These crustaceans are raised on farms.
  • The conditions of these farms are highly unsanitary and intolerable even for a measly shrimp.
  • The shrimp are contained in tiny, overcrowded pens that are filled with infectious bacteria like: Salmonella, E.coli, and other bacteria.
  • To keep the shrimp from dying off of their own sewage, the shrimp farmers pour illegal antibiotics into the contaminated pens. Some of these antibiotics are:  Enrofloxacin, an antibiotic that is banned for human use, but is used for domesticated animals, and is known to deteriorate the immune system. Chloramphenicol, suspected to cause cancer in humans like Leukemia. Nitrofurazone is a carcinogen (any substance, radionuclide, or radiation that is an agent directly involved in causing cancer), and can cause disinclined organisms including fungi and Pseudomonas.
  • These shrimp torture farms are also disturbing the environment as well. The shrimp farms are constructed along the coastlines of the sea.  During the construction process, many Mangrove Forests are destroyed.  Mangrove Forests are highly important ecosystems. The Mangrove forest exceeds the Rain Forest in absorbing and confining vast amounts of harmful, climate changing carbon dioxides. These forests also grow brackish wetlands between land and sea, where other plants can’t grow.  They protect the coastline and prevent erosion by collecting sediment from rivers and streams and slowing down the flow of water.

It’s obvious to me that shrimp is no longer an edible once it reaches your plate.   From these facts alone, my opinion is that shrimp is highly unfit for human consumption.  But the bible also tells us, in Leviticus 11:9-12These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:  They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.”

How do you feel about Shrimp now?

Matthew 6:30-31
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Power in Name of JESUS!!!!! (John 14:3-7)

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Call on the name Jesus and he will save you from your sins. He will conquer all of your doubts and fears. The name of Jesus will set you free from all the bondage of iniquity, addiction, depression, fornication, homosexuality, and ALL of YOUR SINS!
